Yvonne’s warm, whimsical parables are written around Hartlie and his friends, the BOG critters. Each one is written with an eye towards helping children form strong, healthy relationships with God, family and friends. In these difficult times, she wanted to give children the understanding and tools to help them stay strong no matter what they were facing. Whether it is bullying, teasing, low self-esteem, forgiveness or a long list of life issues, she and Hartlie tackle them all from a fun filled Bible based perserspective.

Wooly’s Point of View- Self Esteem

Overview

A story about how we see ourselves. When Hartlie comes across a down
and out Wooly, it’s just a matter of time before some very dramatic
changes turn Wooly’s depression into a dance of joy.

FLYING IS FOR THE BIRDS- FORGIVENESS

Overview

The importance of forgiveness. An innocent but foolish game takes a very
bad turn, leaving both players with the painful consequence. This
story is how each dealt with that pain.

Rainbows N Radishes - Grief & Loss

Overview

Lilly and Lolly dared to pluck radishes from Ms Peevis’ patch, but a bigger storm brewed in the Bog, and it would cost them everything. How would God help them heal?

One Mad Mole Named Myrtle - Humility/Pride

Overview

The problems with pride and the need for humility. Trouble brews when Myrtle
and her loving brood are startled, hurt and angered by the Herons
who feel that most critters are below their station in life.

To Tease A Bummble - Teasing

Overview

The Bummbles were a different sort, they would weeble and wobble as they walked. Three sassy, mean sheep would tease and taunt them, will Hartlie’s prayer make a difference?

FURDY FLEEGLES’ CHOICE- PEER PRESSURE

Overview

The importance of choosing our friends wisely. Furdy is forced to make
some life changing decisions. Will he go along with some new but
dodgy friends in his life?

BEASTOFEROUS BULLY

Overview

BULLYING For every child who has ever bullied or been bullied. The BOG critters
are sick and tired of Beastoferous Heaps mean, hateful, bullying. But do
they have the courage to confront him?

I purchased all 7 books in August. After I read each one I sent it to my 3 year old grandson. I’ve only sent him two so far because I didn’t know if my son would read it to him or not. Well, I found out my grandson loves them. They sent me a video this week of him opening a delivery. I could tell he knew what it was and was excited to get it. I’ll be sending him two this next week. Thank you, Mrs. Taylor, and to your son for all you both have contributed to our country and world in these exciting times.

Fanatastic books for all young ages of children; but also for older children who are not familiar with the Christian contents of this wonderful series of books. They are lovely stories of everyday events and the nicer way to consider one another in our daily lives and future morals, while giving the example of Lord Jesus. The stories are written sensitively with humour and wisdom, in a poetic sense of movement and rythmic rhyme, so easy to read and enjoy. Children of reading age will also love reading these books by themselves. The books suit a wide range of readers of children, as based on Bible stories; which make the findings and truth in the Bible very accurate and easy to understand. Added to the stories, the pages are full of delightful illustrations helping the thread of the meaning. The drawings are of the most lovable animal characters all very sweet; which are so enjoyable with very human traits which express all of us in some ways: particularly through all their adventures, near escapes/ scrapes and misses all through. These great characters follow on through the series, such excellent continuity. The books have a very human and gentle feel telling us the story of Lord Jesus and His mission of His earthly life and thereafter. The stories also give the reference of the verses from the Bible, relevant to the books' storylines. It is the perfect platform and preparation to learn about the Bible; especially for those children wishing the continuation to study the Bible more deeply. Truly marvellous books which I love for myself too, at a 'way beyond my childhood age !!' The author, Yvonne Taylor, is also the illustator. Congratulations to her, on I believe her first series of books, called The Hartlie Series. Truly Marvellous !

This book held my kindergarten’s interest very well…. His only 5 so I had to adjust some of the language for his comprehension (but the lesson still comes thru clearly & I like that I’ll be able to reread this book with him again and again in the years to come.) I also liked the scriptures at the end of the book. My son wanted to read and say all of them. The illustrations are beautiful & kept my son very engaged. He was fascinated by Hartlie…. I’m excited to read the other books in this series to him. Keep writing them.

finally a book that I dont have to worry what is written in it.

I’m not one for writing reviews but will make an exception for The Hartlie Series books. As an educator, I appreciate the verse type of writing style this author uses. The stories remind me of yesteryear as godly character is sewn into each story. Difficult issues are handled with care and a reference of accompanying Bible verses conclude each story. I look forward to reading these stories to my grandchildren as they grow up and recommend these books to parents as well as fellow grandparents!

Really enjoyed the drawings and the scripts. Bought for baby shower gifts and kept a set for our grands to read.

These book is an excellent story for children. Lessons from God can only bring goodness to this world especially to or children. I loved it. I can’t wait to read it to my niece.
