Luke 24: Very early on the first day of the week, the women came to the tomb where Jesus’ body was laid. They brought the spices they had prepared. 2: They found that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance of the tomb. 3: They went in, but they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4: While they were wondering about this, two men in shining clothes suddenly stood beside them. 5: The women were very afraid; they bowed their heads to the ground. The men said to the women, “Why are you looking for a living person here? This is a place for the dead. 6: Jesus is not here. He has risen from death! Do you remember what he said in Galilee? 7: He said that the Son of Man must be given to evil men, be killed on a cross, and rise from death on the third day.” 8: Then the women remembered what Jesus had said.

On Resurrection Sunday, we come together to celebrate that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, after being in the tomb for three days, as the Bible had told us would happen. Early on the third morning Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Mary, went to where Jesus was buried as they were deeply saddened and in mourning. When they arrived, an angel met them to tell them that Jesus was raised from the dead and they should go and tell the Apostles that a MIRACLE had happened!!!
As Christians, we remember with gratitude and appreciation, that Christ was nailed to a wooden cross, died for us, was buried, then raised to life again after three days. His sacrifice enables us to live victorious lives with joy, and spiritual power and authority. This Resurrection Sunday, we solemnly remember, and give thanks, for all that He went through for each of us. Now we get to talk with and commune with God Himself AND live with Him FOREVER!
